We were most fortunate to get in a couple of trips to New York City this summer and I took the opportunity to do a few things I’ve always wanted to do. Finally walked the Brooklyn Bridge over the East River and up Broadway back to our hotel on West 44th Street. Spent a summer afternoon in Central Park watching people and their pets, enjoying the beautiful gardens, ponds and paths. Lunched in Chelsea Market and strolled the High Line, a linear park that was once an elevated railway. We were graciously treated to a special tour of the One World Trade Center and September 11th Memorial courtesy of Susan’s cousin who is the head of security. Beyond the endless dining opportunities we also visited the NY Botanical Gardens where we took in a night-time exhibit of Dale Chihuly studio glass in beautifully staged indoor and outdoor settings.
Spending a few days in NYC is always fun, with a camera it’s a photographer’s delight. I’ve collated a few of my favorite pictures from these trips into one collection. We’re already looking forward to our next visit to this big, bustling, beautiful city.
