Earlier this month Susan and I were invited to join friends Robert and Jerry at the Menlo Charity Horse Show. Not having attended this event before I was not sure what would be going on, but took a camera along just in case. As it turned out we had perfect seats literally 10-feet from one of the course fences in a Grand Prix show jumping competition. The scenery was beautiful, the late afternoon light attractive, the riders athletic and strong and the horses; simply magnificent.
While we had a great seating location with good light, I definitely had the wrong lens, and no options to turn to, so most of these are cropped to give close-up of the horse and rider. If I ever do this again, I’ll be more prepared, but still managed to walk away with a few interesting shots that show the atmosphere, the intensity and the bond between man, (or women) and their horse.
