Susan and I spent two weeks in Florence, Italy in 2018 celebrating our 20th Anniversary. One of the loveliest cities in Europe, it is an endless cornucopia of visual and epicurean delights. During our time there I had several occasions to venture out after dinner to walk through the city and along the Arno River. From the Piazza Pitti Palace it was a short walk to the Ponte Vecchio bridge where one gets a great view of the river and the crenellated tower of the Palazzo Vecchio. I also spent time on the Ponte Santa Trinita, a 16th century arched bridge just down river where several of these pictures were taken.
Inviting and alluring, like most great cities Florence comes alive with a completely different perspective at night. The more time one spends there the more you realize that there is so much more to see, experience and enjoy about this lovely city. With an overabundance of art museums, public squares, palaces, and cathedrals combined with a vibrant culture and cuisine it is truly our favorite place to visit in Italy.
