Here are a few pictures of the F1 cars at this year’s Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. The cars pictured are significant in that they were either outright winners of World Championships or won significant races in their constructor’s history. They were driven by some of history’s most successful drivers; Alain Prost, Mario Andretti, Keke Rosberg, Alan Jones, Nikki Lauda, James Hunt and Jackie Stewart.
These cars look fantastic coming down the Corkscrew turn at Laguna Seca, but that’s really only part of it. The sound is the most exciting and visceral part of F1 that these vintage cars provided in abundance.
