Was in South Florida for a week this month and got to spend four days with a friend on his 46-ft Motor Yacht cruising from Fort Lauderdale to Miami and back for the Miami Beach Boat Show. Not only is it the most fun way to get to Miami Beach, the Marina where we docked provided a convenient base of operations and offers great opportunities to roam around South Beach with a camera.
I used a new camera this time, (Fuji X100s), and was very impressed with both the ease of use, degree of control and the resulting image quality. Having used Nikons exclusively for over 20-years, adding a Fuji was a big step for me. The X100s looks like a vintage rangefinder film camera and is the perfect travel/street camera in that it’s compact and unobtrusive without giving up control or picture quality. An added bonus are digital profiles that mimic the Fuji films I used back in the day, Velvia, Astia, Previa, etc…
All images taken with Fuji X100s 35mm f/2.0 fixed lens; except MTU engine & Pointe Park condo which were shot with Samsung Galaxy S4 Smartphone – only crop no post processing of images performed.
