With over 270-inches of new snow in the month of January Lake Tahoe’s 2017 ski season is off to an exceptional start. That’s more snow than was received during the entire 2015 ski season.
With that much snow comes power outages and drift-closed streets. What initially seems like an inconvenience becomes an opportunity to get out and try something different. Everyone takes to snow shoes and cross country skis to get around town, catch some exercise and say hello to neighbors and friends. Snow also magnifies the splendor of living in a winter wonderland as some of these pictures convey. Scenes are from around Incline Village, the local ski mountain and from our balcony. More snow, more powder days and more winter fun to come… Here are ten of my favorites.
