Yosemite in early Spring is a perfect time to visit this jewel of the US National Park System. The summer crowds are yet to arrive and most everything except higher altitude trails and roads are available for hiking and exploring. We were fortunate during our visit to have a variety of weather conditions. The visual transformation of Yosemite from a sunny spring day to Sierra winter storm warning was both exciting and dramatic.
Black & White photography is ideally suited for the majesty and grandeur of Yosemite’s scenic landscapes. Its ability to enhance the contrast of light and dark and wide range of textures accentuate the inherent drama in these images and makes it an ideal medium of expression.
All images were taken with Nikon D750 with AF Nikkor 35mm f/2 D prime lens, AF Nikon 18mm-35mm f/3.5-4.5 wide-angle lens or AF-S Nikkor 55mm-200mm f/4-5.6G ED (DX) zoom lens in RAW format and processed in Adobe Lightroom Classic CC.
